What is a star?

Stars are the most widely recognized astronomical objects, and represent the most fundamental building blocks of galaxies. They are an astronomical object consisting of a luminous spheroid of plasma held together by its own gravity.

I have studied and analysed four stars in the constellation

• α1 Centauri is the closest star system and closest planetary system to Earth's Solar System at 4.37 light-years from the Sun. It is a triple star system, consisting of three stars: α Centauri A, α Centauri B and α Centauri C.
• β Centauri is a triple star it's the second-brightest object in Centaurus and one of the brightest stars in the night sky. The distance to this system is about 390 light-years.
• μ Centauri is a third-magnitude star in the southern constellation of Centaurus. With the stars ν and φ Centauri, it marks what has been traditionally portrayed as "dextro Latere" of the Centaur. one of the brighter members of the constellation. It is a 510 light years from Earth.

• π Centauri is a binary star system in the constellation of Centaurus. It has a blue-white hue and is visible to the naked eye. The system is located at a distance of approximately 360 light years.
